A St. Paul, MN (b. 1993) multi media artist, Connor Dainty’s works reflect upon the chaotic nature of the world and the human spirit. Connor’s work lives in duality of itself. When practicing collage, his work seeks to explore interpersonal reflection through vicarious subjects immersed in vast worlds engulfed in surreality. Sourcing vintage print materials dating pre 1980s, the collage work carries a certain nostalgic feels that ruminates throughout each piece. Throughout his time in collage, a feeling of introspection has been a consistent theme of each work. utilizing ambiguous figures in these pieces invites the viewer into this dynamic. In painting, Eye catching gestural statements take center stage, delivering enticing paintings that are easy to delve into but hard to step away from. Exploring larger movements and embracing natural blends & techniques that starkly contrast the perfectionist nature of his collage work. In total, Connor’s work seeks to gain a greater understanding of himself, and in doing so, creates a space for any consumer of his art to explore themselves deeper as well.
